All the children were engaged from start to finish and the teachers thought it was great fun too. We had a virtual session with Claire Freedman, the author. She actually did 3 sessions - for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The children loved it! It was inspiring for them to hear a real author - whose books they were familiar with - not only reading her own work, but talking about how she became an author, and how much she enjoyed her work. 5 out of 5 - amazing. We loved it. Thanks so much. C. Steele

Some PANTASTIC work sent in from Class 1 at St Mary's. Thanks to you all! So glad my visit inspired this brilliant funny underpants story, and your pictures were all SO good too! What a talented bunch you all are! The king was going to the coronation. But he had no underpants! King Charles asked Queen Camilla can I borrow some. But the underpants were too frilly. So he asked Prince William can I have your underpants. But they were too big and they fell down! On the way to the coronation the king met brachiosaurus. The brachiosaurus had spotted bloomers. No thanks! Then he met a pirate captain with gold pants. I like your underpants the king said. Can I have them? No the captain said. He waved his cutlass. The king got his sovereign's sceptre to fight the pirate. The king lost his orb in the fight and his sovereign's sceptre. The king had no underpants and no sceptre and no orb! A selection of artwork from the day.

Thank you Claire for such a brilliant school zoom visit to our Reception and Year one children at St Katherine’s C of E school, Canvey Island, Essex!! It exceeded all expectation and the children were thoroughly engaged throughout! It was lovely that you could relate to them on their level particularly during the question and answering session. The children felt confident to ask questions and you answered them so appropriately and sensitively! We were impressed when a child asked if your books were written in other languages and you were able to produce an example to show them! Our children were inspired by Mr Cuddles and enjoyed the interaction with him! We thoroughly recommend Claire’s virtual visit it was amazing! ! Thanks Claire once again for that memorable visit it was truly a special time to look back on! Ruth, St Katherine's C of E School, Essex

Claire, A very big thank you for your input today and for accommodating us.  I was with the P1 (reception) children after the call and when we hung up, one of the little girls said “That wasn’t good, it was awesome! I really like her”.  There was a lot of ‘what if?’ chat this afternoon which was just lovely. Many thanks, Gill, Echline Primary School

Drapers Mills Primary School  (Via Virtual School Visits) Hi Emily, It was fabulous! The children loved it and I will definitely write a review.  Please say sorry to Claire for me, I think I might have hung up prematurely, I thought she was all finished and I felt awful that as I hung up I heard her say something!  She was so lovely :-)

Hi Claire, I just wanted to say a massive thank you for that session, it was brilliant the students are all inspired and are wasting no time at all! They are currently sat in a session now working on the 'what if' scenario that you suggested.  It was very interesting to hear all about the book writing process, I even found it fascinating as an adult and the students were also star struck when you mentioned their names for the questions, the whole session was lovely to be involved in.  Thank you also for your patience with our numerous technical glitches!  Thank you again, it was brilliant and I would highly recommend the session to anyone,  Kind regards, Laura, Parklane School, Cheshire

St Christopher’s School

Please can you pass on to Claire how enjoyable her virtual visit was with us! The children at St. Christopher's have been so inspired that they have been writing, drawing and acting out their own versions of 'Underpants' stories. Claire was a natural with the children and very kind with her comments and replies to the children - They all wanted to speak to her!!! It particularly made us feel proud that we provided her with a question that she had never been asked before! It was a joy to have her - Thank her so much! Louisa, St Christopher’s School

Hi Claire, Thank you so much for visiting our classes, when I spoke to some of the children they were so excited that they had actually met a real life author.  Some of them couldn't believe that they had some of your books at home! The teachers really enjoyed it as well and it's given them a chance to discuss with the children about writing for an audience. Lucy, Allington Primary, Kent
